misha bumper

Im highly considering puting the misha gt3 look rear bumper on my car but am a little afraid of fiberglass bumpers. I am not worried about the whole craking if it gets hit just about how it looks installed. How is mishas quality on bumpers? how is the fit? when painted will it looks just like a plastic bumper or can you tell that its fiberglass? Just in general those of you with fiberglass bumpers how are they? Is misha the best brand to go with? What do people mean when the body shop "fits" the bumper. I have removed my bumper before and i dont see how their can be any "fiting" its just a few screws and nothing to really adjust?

Give Karl Wilen at Imagine Auto a call. Imagine is a board sponsor and listed on this page. He just put one on my car and can tell you what was involved. It required some work beyond just bolting it on, but came out well.

Ricks bumper came out pretty good for an after-market piece. The nice thing about fiberglass, is that you can mold it how you want using infrared heat. The Misha bumper took quite a bit of fitting, and I did reinforced the two side tabs with metal as I was afraid they would snap off (obviously it is a mounting point hidden behind the rear tail lights). If you want something that will just bolt on, then you are stuck with buying a bumper straight from Porsche, it just isn't going to happen with after-market stuff (other than say, buying a bumper from RUF if you consider them after-market). After-market stuff always requires some fitting work. On Rick's bumper, the initial fit was good, but then I used heat to slowly push the bumper exactly where I wanted it. Once the fiberglass cools, then it holds that new shape. It isn't hard work, just takes some patience to work with it.

One thing we did was fiberglass the rear bumperettes shut, and made it a euro look bumper. We also made use of the rear tow hook.

Edit:
When I talk about fitting, usually with after-market bumpers, you put the bumper in place and start to secure it. What you will find is that the left side might line up, and the right side might be a 1/4" off. This is where you have to make both sides even, and with fiberglass, you have the ability to accomplish most of that.

The misha wings fit perfectly fine. Fiberglass wings are even easier to put on because they're pretty much bolt on and don't require that much adjusting to make it perfect.

i think with the GT3 style rear bumpers.. there is really 2 choices here. my first choice would be to get the oem GT3 bumper and just buy a center style exhaust. but, if you want to keep your dual side exaust... then aftermarket is your only choice. from what i've seen misha has some good stuff

O.k., here are a couple of photos of the Misha bumper cover on the car. I have the street wheels and tires (Champion RG5/Michelin PS2) on in these photos. Karl did a great job on the install.

misha quality!

i have the misha gt3 installed on my supercharged "s".. i love it.. I also have the gtm rear wing installed as well...

both are high quality parts for the install.. but here's the real seller.

my body guy was tennative about installing these parts, after a little convinving he agreed... he had some questions about the install and i told him to call misha..

he raved about how they helped him and the followup support they gave him..

looks, good pricing, quality and service.. sounds like a winner to me..
