Few C2 questions
I'm looking to order a 08 C2 but I have a few questions :
1- Can it handle being used as DD ? I'll probably drive it around 13K miles/year.
2- How's the reliability ? I'm currently a Lexus owner.
3- What's the difference between a C2 and a C2S besides the engine ?
4- How's maintenance in terms of cost and time ?
That's all there is for now
Thanks .

1. yes! definitely!
2. comparable
3. PASM, Xenon... and some minor stuff... get a brochure at your dealership, you can read all about it
4. not much more than another car... except for tires and wear of the brakes when driving it hard... and gas of course, 15mpg is a nice estimate

It's a great Daily Driver. I commute 35 miles to work each way, in a mix of bumper to bumper and open roads, and it's great.
Carreras are very reliable cars overall. One report had Porsche surpass Lexus in a reliablity test, which is surprising, but the dealers all use that one report as a selling point.
The "S" gets you a larger engine, better brakes, .5 inch lower stance, more hp, more tq, and standard PASM. It's worth the $10k.
Maintenance is pricey, but not needed very often.

Raj (SN rah) drives his 911 as dd and i think in 3 or 4 months he put about 7k miles on it. It is comfortable DD but it's no sofa on wheels(lexus).

switching from a Lexus to a Porsche... sounds exciting... my guess is you will only switch back once you turn 70

I have a Lexus IS250 as my daily driver and have the Carrera S as my weekend/toy car. I drive the Lexus to the grocery store, mall, and work on rainy days. The Porsche only sees sunny days for my daily commute
The reliability is similar (both cars have the stupid occasional false computer fault messages for TPMS), with a slight nod going to the Lexus. I actually find the Lexus to be more high maintenance since its always asking for an oil change every 3000 miles. This is relatively more than the 06 Carreras since it only asks for maintenance every 2 years or 20,000 miles, but I'd recommend bringing it in after break in and once a year.
