Looking for suggestions on what would be a good offer
Hey everybody! I am new to the forum and I am looking to buy my first p-car. I figured a used C2S would be a good place to start (coming from an 06 M3). I found this : http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...ice=&cardist=3 Carrera white C2S close by me and was wondering what would be a reasonable offer. If anybody has any other leads on 06 and up C2S's in Carrera white on black please do not hesitate to give me a heads up.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I was thinking to start just shy of 70 like you state. Thanks for the advice.
This car is fairly priced IMO, but making an offer wont hurt to see what you can knock off. Things to consider are the techart wheels and aerokit which are $10K+. If this car was stock wheels and body the right price would be around $75-$80K so getting the additional mods is a plus. Other major upgrades are the Sport Seats, Chrono Pkg., IF your looking to spend low 70's high 60's just look for cars without the sport seats, Aero pkg., and wheels.

Good point regarding the the wheels (which I am not that jazzed about in black) and the OEM aerokit. But my immediate reaction that high 70's is a bit steep for an 06. I am new to the Porsche market though so I guess that doesn't help my cause. Thanks for the info.
Eeesh. Nice car but you are so close to new pricing on an 08 considering the discounts . I would recommend an offer of 65K and go no higher than 68. His ask price of 78 is DREAMLAND on an 06. The car is two years old and no matter how nice it may look it is used .
The wheels and such would cost more and do add value but let him sell those separately id you are not crazy about them.
Just to give an example -- a new car with MSRP of 90 will sell in the low 80's . You are close to 70. For 10K more on such a large investment I think its worth considering . Unless you specifically knew that previous owner and/or car's history I recommend new at these ultra close levels.
No matter waht you decide I wish you all the best.

Based on my research and my own experience, I think a 2-year old car with "normal" mileage should sell for about $30k less than list price, especially if heavily optioned. Options are almost worthless in KBB. I typically do a wide search for comps on AutoTrader and check values on KBB to zero in on where the market is (or should be). Many private parties try to get retail value like a dealer, but I refuse to pay more than PP, and hopefully less if seller motivated.

This being a used car dealership, I am sure they have factored in the options that this car has. I agree that the options have minimal effect on increasing the resale value of a car. Thanks.
Ok but dont forget the Tax, license, and cost to roll a new car off the floor. On the flip side of it all the 997 facelift Carrera schedualed for 09' will have close to 350hp which is nearly the same as an 06' Carrera S will start at 73K brand new.
What's your source on pricing for the facelifted car? My prediction is that Porsche will use the facelift to pass on a hefty price increase due to the sagging value of the dollar.
It was a guess, do to them raising the MSRP of the cars by 2K every year since i bought mine in 06'. The value of the $ might play a role but i cant see the base 911 going for more than $78K
1) 2008 saw a big increase proportionally with other years
2) competition in the segment is increasing as cars like Audi, BMW. Lexus , Nissan ,etc come up with cars too
3) Slow economy
4) North America comprise a big sales segment
Porsche can not afford to risk pricing itself out of the market with too big of an increase .
Did you get your car ?
