If the car isn't being driven on a regular basis than your story isn't unusual. A battery tender would likely help.

I had to remove about 1/4" of material from the lip on the back of the battery cover for the cable to slip through. It tucks up next to the windshield washer where you can hook it with your finger and pull it out, but it is not otherwise visible. Lots of good battery tenders out there, the Deltran unit is very solid.

Wow, I have 71K on my 2005 C2 and I still have the original battery.

The more you drive the car, the longer battery will last. Porsche warranty on battery specifically states if you don't drive 6000 miles per year they will not honor the warranty on battery.

I am not making this up. I got a printout of the exact excerpt from Mckenna Porsche when I tried to file for a battery warranty.

Keep an eye on the water level in the battery. The OEM battery is not sealed. The Porsche stickers on the top hide the fill plugs.
