I probably should have listed curb weight, which is 3472 for the Targa 4S, 3340 for the Coupe 4S, and 3527 for the Cab.

Thanks. That is helpful. I presume the cab weight you provided is for a C4S cab? I just realized that the Targa only comes in Targa 4 and Targa 4S, and is not available as an "S". I wonder why.

Yes, the weight is for the cab 4S. I'm not sure about the availability only in awd. It may be simply a marketing deal. Technically, it could be due to handling impact of the heavier glass roof. Also, the wider hips may be needed for the sliding roof, but I wouldn't think this would force the awd. It is a good question.

The Targa is the best looking of the current 911 family. I love the roof lines on it. It just looks a little more elegant to me.

I agree that they are probably the best looking in the 911 lineup, the Targa 4S was my first P-car! I have a Turbo incoming, and can no longer afford to have both, so regrettably I am selling mine.

While I love my cab, I'm increasingly attracted to the Targa. If MJS NYC had a black dash and PSE I'd be tempted. GL with sale.

the full glass roof with the screen allow for a very airy cabin most of the time while keeping the sun away when required.

AWD allows for a better stability, not necessary a weather instrument

the roof sliding mechanism is a work of art and a pleasure to watch time and again

as opposed to a cabrio,no soft top involved

+ all you have outlined in your post

to me the targa in 4S guise seem to be the best looking, elegant and best proportioned current 911 and that was the main determining factor for purchase

here are a few pics
Awesome...love the color.
What other goodies do you have hiding in the background...looks like a turbo and a 993?

The vehicle "your dealership" has did not sticker for anywhere near 118k. I'd say the amount of options amounts to dick.
