X51 or Evo MS Intake?

What are people's thoughts? I'm trying to decide what way to go, and I really like the look of the X51 intake? How "loud" is the Evo intake? Pros/Cons either way?

x-51(Porsche OEM) uses 2 paper filters. the Evo uses a K&N. The K&N (over oiled) will foul up the MAF sensor. The X-51 is 3 times the price and well worth it. PS you will need an X-51 oil filler tube with the OEM stuff.

The Evo is now using a dry filter with a net over it.

The Evo System works well, I have had one in both of my 997. Not as pretty as the X51, but seems effective.

I would agree, mine came with my first car. If I were buying one I would do X51, although the Evo is cheaper.

Evo is also easier to install, that being said I am very happy with the x-51.

Funny, the Evo guys like the X51 and the X51 are saying nice things about the Evo, perhaps they are both good!

Yeah, both good choices. Has anyone noticed a performance gain with the X51 as an post-purchase upgrade? Also, for those of you who added it...did you just add the airbox, or did you go with all the other X51 parts?

I'm leaning towards the X51. It's so damn pretty! Oh, before I forget, did anyone have any problems "cutting" the second air hole?

All I can say I noticed was an improved throttle response. I just added the Airbox the rest of the plumbing is even more difficult but doable. Having the RSS Plenum and Throttle body I didn't think I would see any more gain with the rest X-51 plumbing. But w/o a dyno it is hard to quantify.

Cutting the hole and changing the oil filler tube are not easy jobs. Unless you very comfortable working on cars don't do it yourself on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the most difficult this was a 9 or a 10 for me.

Thanks for the feedback on the install effort. I'm pretty comfortable working on my cars, and I can always recruit my father (got to love growing up on a farm) or ask the boys at Matrix Integrated for some help.
