Haven't done it yet!

I've changed many exhaust on my previous cars but never on Porsche. I would like to change the exhaust when I get my ride in June.

Let me know if he does it, how it goes?

Thanks

I would imagine that it is not too difficult, but I would think that the 997 would require a lift of some kind to work on it properly. Jack Stands might make it a little snug.

That was my problem I was using ramps and it's really tight. I had to keep my head tilted to the side a little. If you have comfortable work space you'll be fine.

Life would be so much easier if we all had a lift or even a pit

I have a Bend-Pak Scissor Lift. It lifts the whole car as high as 48"

One of the best investments I have made for working on my own cars.

I'm not that mechanically inclined, but I put in a Fabspeed with a friend. It's a tight fit, but did it with jack stands. Took about 45 min. to an hour for us to remove and install. The tips, though, didn't fit and I needed to have them cut by a shop.

I uninstalled the OEM muffler, installed my X51 headers, AWE cats and mufflers under 3.5hrs. This was with the car on ramps..The 911 has to be the easiest car I ever installed a full exhaust on. My E46 M3 was whole weekend.

if you remove exhaust manifolds 1st, it's rediculously easy.

It is pretty straight forward once you're under the car. If you've never put the car on stands or ramps before, just take your time to ensure everything is stable before you begin work.

Good luck! You should have some fun with this.

it took about 1.5-2 hrs max. not too hard. i used a ramp but if you have jack stands, you can remove the wheels which will make it a little easier.

Nothing like a little "on your back" session, getting to know the bowels of your favorite P-car
