Last Minute Decision!

I have my 08 C4S on order since Feb2 08, I always felt it was missing something inside to make it extra special.

So today I decided to call and have them add me Full leather package at the last minute. My salesprson was still trying to make me think twice abut it, due to the fact it costs $5000.00 can for this option. I still went with it.

A question for you boys

My sportseats are in black leather with red stiching, should I make the dashboard red stiching, or should I leave it the color it comes in?

The reason I'am asking is because I don't want to make it too flashy, I'am afraid with time I won't like the red stiching.

But anyways your opinions from Porsche fans is greatly appreciated.

I got two days to think about it in order not to delay production for June 08.

See ya Keep in Touch

You are getting your car on my birthday .
Look at this car with red stitching that was posted in the For Sale section and decide based on your taste. I like it.
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ighlight=997tt

Question --The leather upgrade places you so close to Turbo pricing . Have you considered a Turbo? Leather comes standard with the car and so does a lot of extra Hp.

Hi yrralis 1,

I'am agreeing with your opinion with the turbo. For my first porsche i'll settle with the C4S.

The insurance and price diffrence up here in Montreal for the Turbo is pretty high. I start with this one and later how knows?

Thanks
Thanks for the link it was very helpful,I've decided to leave it in the original color,I like it more plain and classical.

The C4S is very close when loaded up with options vs a moderately optioned tt in the USA . How much price difference are the two in Canada?
My insurance making the jump from C2S to 997tt was about 1K USD a year but I am heavily insured and even included my mods onto the policy on both cars.

finish

Personally I don't recommend spending too much on interior decoration and comfort. Why? Because the 997 is a sport car and as such will never be a totally smooth ride. It is a great car, the engine runs perfectly but it generally lacks good finishes especially for the price range. Rattles come and go -mysteriously. The carton liners you'll find inside and in the trunk show that Porsche clearly overlooks this. Against this backdrop, why spending on luxury finishes? The car is charming because it is simple, sleek, pure performance. Unlike Japanese or US coupes festooned with electronics and gadgets to be obsolete within 2 years.

There's a lot of "sport" oriented features which can be added . Every driver has to place his hand on a steering wheel and the Techart wheel (2k and change) is a part that I just ordered . As well I opted for an alumium shifter and gear handle (ordering code EGA) after it was explained in the 997tt forum.

I considered carbon fiber --why not dress up the car ? But decided to spend the money where it really counts: the engine .

As for ratttles ? 7 Porsches and none. I am not saying it never could occur but this guy is buying a new car and whatever he decides oought to be a happy thing for him.

The fact that his delivery date is my birthday --makes it a happy day for me too.

Seriously? you've never even taken a ride in a full leather Porsche? ... sorry Phil, not understanding your phrase "generally lacks good finishes"

Go with a lightly optioned or even base turbo vs a heavily optioned NA 997 anyday.

Sweet, too bad it won't arrive in time for the Canadian Grand Prix. I make it up there every year, and if all goes well, hopefully this yr will be in a C4S

I like the red stitching on the dashboard as well, since you have it on the seats might as well extend it, it won't be overdone IMO. However that's from a guy who until recently considered a Glut Orange (color from the Lambo) RS4 with orange piping. LOL May be a bot much for some people's tastes, but it is you that matters.

I have to agree, if you are throwing the kitchen sink you may be better off with the TT.

Nice, I bet you can't wait.

How about heated seats, I think it is a worthwhile option especially in the climate you are in, no? I've listened to the audio in cars with and without the Bose, and frankly I would personally opt for no Bose and use the savings there towards something like the PSE (definitely a better sound option ).

I've often wondered about the 5mm spacers. Do they serve any practical purpose other than fill out the wheel well further for cosmetic appeal (for example, can you use a thicker tire, say 315 width with the spacers and avoid rubbing)? I know the jury is out on them, some people feel negatively for a long list of reasons. In fact, I'll post a thread on this

I would say go with the red, as it will tie everything together a little better.
