My sentiments exactly.. I was only holding on to my 996 TT because I thought there was not going to be a 997 TT

Any idea on timeline?

I like the look but I don't think I would touch a first or second year production car. I'll wait a little while for them to iron out the kinks...

Pretty sweet....thanks for the pics darren.

Porsche is all about profits - just look at the option list sometimes. The rumor that they wouldn't sell the most profitable and PR icon flagship 911 ( the Turbo ) in the 997 generation was ludicrous, esp in light of the current German " pissing contest" of horsepower obsession in the GT /sports cars and super sedans.

These are all old pics which have been circulating for quite a while.

I was hopeful too that a 997TT would come out soon, but Porsche is keeping quiet about it. We have all seen this before...just because someone got some spy shots does not necessarily mean the final product (if it ever comes out) will look like the testing prototype.

It sounds like IF a 997TT comes out it won't be a radical departure from the 996TT. Maybe a few cosmetic shanges or maybe a few engine tweaks but it is pretty vague. Every time I ask my Porsche dealer about it, they quickly try to change the topic and just shrug their shoulders . At first they told me that a 997TT will be out in late 2005 or early 2006, then they told me that there won't be a 997TT, then they told me the "next TT" will be based on the 996 platform. You get my drift...they know sweet f/a and Porsche Germany is keeping us all in the dark. The real changes won't occur until the 998.

BUT like always we'll just have to wait and see what surprises Porsche has in store for us...hopefully, good ones!
