That's a nice car . There's pros and cons to the deal .

I won't list the pros --you already know them .

The cons :
The ceramics are expensive enough to keep the price higher than most 05 cars without them. They may cost more to fix too when the car goes off warranty .

The verdict : 59K . They were probably offered less for the 05 car.

JSO,

I am also in Atlanta and was looking at a very similar car with higher milage and a higher price (although it was CPO from Porsche, I still think it is too high for the milage). Even though it has the options I am seeking I have yet to purchase it because I have found some cheaper (just not in the color combo / option combo I am currently wanting). So I say it sounds like it is a pretty good deal, if you don't pick it up send me the info as I may be interested (btw I also have an M3 I am getting rid of to pick up the 997S )

lol hagel what a small world.. thanks guys for your thoughts and input and hagel if youre talking about the one at jim ellis, I've driven that one and it drives well. have you gotten an offer from them? I walked out of there because they were seriously lowballing me on my trade-in.
also it seems that theres a new one of these "launch edition" 997s that pop up every week or so.. i've been searching accross the country and i've seen difference between non-cpo and cpo cars with the same mileage ranging around 5-7k. any luck selling your m3?

Yep it is the one up at Jill Ellis, and I agree they will lowball you on the trade (trying to do the same with me) and they are not willing to budge much on the car price either (honestly why i am not a huge fan of dealing with them... long story there, and would prefer to purchase at Hennessey if I end up purchasing from a dealer).

I have had the M3 for sale for a few weeks (Slate Grey, Red Leather Interior, SMG, Dinan Chip, etc... '03 w/ 48K miles asking 32,500 and have only gotten some very unserious people looking at he car). So I will probably take the hit if I end up trading it in (although have thought about keeping it as a 3rd car).

I like you have been looking all over the country and have been finding around 60 - 65 for none CPO and 63 - 67 w/ CPO. I am looking for either White on Black (1st choice) or black on black (2nd choice). I def want the Sport Crono, although the PCCB breaks are not a big turn on for me as they are very $$ to keep up and for the price difference on a regular set could probably put something just as good (that is cheaper in the long run).

Is the one your looking at in Georgia as well, or would be be shipping it in ?

ahhh i've pretty much given up looking in georgia. the one i'm looking at is out of state, but shipping isnt going to be that bad $650 or so. only concern is I cant physically checkout the car myself.

white/black is definitely a sweet color, but I GOT to have the pccb's and adaptive sport seats and most S's come with sport chrono anyway. I did some researching and the pccb pads are going to cost about $320/pair... which isnt too too bad. Cars going to be driven only once or twice a week so should be manageable. I'll keep an eye out for white/black and shoot a pm over to you if i see a deal. try selectluxury.com .. i've never dealt with them before, but they seem to have cars in good condition and low prices. but I have no personal experience with them.

HI Guys:

I'm new to this board so forgive me for my silly question. My 06 is launch car that I picked up from a friend. What is the significance of the "launch" designation on value or price? I got the impression that "launch" meant loaded with the options.

thanks

From what I have been told the "Launch Edition" was the very first run of cars in 05. They came with every option that was available, Full Leather, PCCB Breaks, Sport Crono, Sport Exhaust, etc... I was also told that their are only around 300 or so of them that was outfitted like this, although anyone would have been able to make a launch edition just by ordering it fully loaded.

I don't think that the actual "launch edition" designation added any value to the price, just they will probably be more expensive because of all the options that are on the car.

If anyone knows different please post and let me know, as again this is only what I have been told from a dealer, and they were trying to use this as a selling point. (although I passed on the car)

I can clarrify the "launch car" because I bought one back in 2004 . Sadly I had to sell it because the theives liked it as much as I did . After 18 months without a Porsche I did buy another and now the Turbo.

But to clarrify--
At the launch in August 2004 each dealership was given an extra car in addition to the ones which were pre ordered . The extra car was Black exterior/ Black interior and fully loaded with every option (including full leather, sports adaptive seats, sport chrono, ceramic brakes, Nav , Bose you name it --everything) .
The MSRP back in 04 was 99,300 .

My car came with everything except NAV and PSE. I suspect that it was just a marketing ploy by the local Porsche dealer.

thanks,
