I do not know what is required for the Carrera red "S" brakes to be fitted to the non Carrera "S" models. However, I do know that the Boxster and Cayman red "S" brakes are a direct bolt-on fit to the base Carrera model using existing rotors and pads. This will not add any performance gains just the bling!

Good luck,
Ken

The Carrera S brakes has got much better heat tolerance and does not fade even 40laps.As i have just done the Porsche Advance Drivers Training in Australia. The thickness of the rotors are much thicker than the std Carrera blacks...which started loosing grips after abt 20 laps..

The 997S brakes are essentially equivalent to the brakes in the 996 turbo.

Yes it is possible but not worth the cost. I would opt for the PCCB brakes instead if you're tracking your car.

Off topic: Turbo S, is that your car in your avatar? I think i've seen your car at Tanglin area before..

You will need to change out the wheel carriers. The standard carrera wheel carriers will not work with the "S" brake kit. The 997S can be upgraded to the turbo/gt3 brake kit without replacing the carriers.
