Sounds like the normal cold weather notchiness and difficulty shifting that I have experienced with most of my manual tranny cars, the C2S included.

anyone experience this?
I bought mine with 5K had the same problem. Usually had to shift it into 2nd or 3rd then 1st. After about 8K miles it went away. Now at 16K I can shift into 1st no problem at 10-15mph. Also once the transmission is warm it works better.

If I had to do over again, and from every thing I have read, I would take it back to the dealer and insist they adjust it.

The only thing I can think of that changed is that the shifter cable stretched. IMO.

Since it's a relatively rare occurence and a rather common issue I have learned to live with it.
Great post.

Many cars will not let you shift into first while you are still rolling.

True, but the problem with the 997 is sometimes it won't let you in at a complete stop...
