Mine are from KI Studios

These are not the easiest things to install correctly. They require care and patience, and I lack much of the latter. Hence I seem to get it right the second time more often than the first time. These pictures don't show the errors, but the installation was not perfect in this case. At some point I will remove them and get it right the second time.

Black on black seems to be pretty popular.

I can relate to what you are saying about first time installs. I wasn't sure how much I would like the look. That's why I went with a cheaper vinyl application. now that I see how nice the solid ones are, I may just pull the trigger on a set of those.

mine were of a very thin black vinyl/plastic-type material. I don't know about the TechArt or anyone else's, for that matter.

I had to wet it down on both sides and manage to get it into the perfect position, THEN squeegee it until it's in place and smooth. It wasn't easy. If there's an alternative that applies differently, I would love to know about it!

Yeah... then you have the same ones I have. The TechArt are solid units that have to be attached using adhesive, if I understand correctly.

That is correct. They are plastic units that needs to be taped on. I'm waiting for mine to arrive.

When they arrive, would you mind taking a couple of picture of the "sticky" side?

I too did the vinyl headlight trim and the first was a learning experience, second side easier on.

Question: Are the "solid" ones that are applied using adhesive (or tape) continuous pieces of trim , or are there seams that the installer has to make meet in the proper place?

Solid, no seams. My photos show that pretty well. You can also see the bevled edge that is not going to exist on the vinyl wraps.

I suspect this is a stupid question, but where can I buy the TechArt headlight covers?

Okay-so I have done a little digging, and have discovered that when you buy TechArt you buy an unfinished cover. Anybody have any idea what it costs to paint them?

I'm pretty sure that would depend on the paint shop you choose, and what they quote you. I can't imagine that it would be overly expensive, depending on the cost of the original Porsche paint.
