cleaning cabrio top
On my Boxster I give it a good cleaning using my standard car wash at the start of the season. Once the top is dry I give it 3 coats of Raggtop protectant. They say you can do it in the sun and it helps with the drying time but I've found through experience that using Raggtop protectant in the shade delivers much better protection. Once the top is well protected and it's time to wash the car again I just use a strong stream of water from the hose on the top. Once it's dry I use a lint roller to remove any lint...
If I find later in the season the top is not fully beading water I repeat the process of cleaning and protecting. Most times the 3 coats last an entire season... Works for me... your results may differ

I use the protectant from Porsche. Heard good things about the Raggtop too.
Just wash without soap normally. Once in a while, I will wash it with a mitt and soap. Use lint roller often so stuff doesn't rub again the top when you lower it.
