Help with 6 sp Manual trans oil change

2005 997 6 speed manual. I just drained 3 liters of manual trans oil. I put in 3 liters of new trans oil. Yet, this was not enough oil volume because there was zero excess oil coming out of the fill hole. When I put my finger in the fill hole, I could not feel any oil. So the question is: should I continue to add more oil until the excess spills out or leave everything alone? Note: the owner's manual states the oil capacity to be 2.9 liters.

I looked on RENNTECH you have to fill to the bottom of the oil fill hole.

If you removed 2.9 quarts and filled with 3.0 quarts then you were probably a little low, just add a little more.n Capacities are approximate.

Here is the RENNTECH tread.

It is for a Boxster but it probably okay, call the dealer and see if you can talk to a tech.

my mistake

My mistake: I was refilling the oil into the wrong filler hole! There are actually two holes for filling: one high up on the housing and one placed lower on the housing. I mistakenly used the high one.
