Will it never end??????

Will it never end...............................every time I take my little baby out on the back roads, she seems to perform better and better.

Since I hit the 2K mark, I have been driving her between 3K and 4.5K when at cruising speeds and widing her out to 6K and 7K while working the curves. Is it just me or am I feeling more and more pick up between 4K and 6.5K???

I just can't keep from flooring it through the curves.

By the way, I have been practicing the toe (braking) and heel (gas) when down shifting for the curves. Getting pretty comfortable with that, but it does depend on the shoes I am wearing.

Bought a pair of Merrell's with a very narrow fit and rounded heel and are working great!!!

How about you, out there??

A friend of mine is an instructor and keeps telling me I need to get out there.

Just waiting for my schedule to work itself out..........I'll be there sooner or later!

Make some time, you will always find an excuse why you can't go, until you try it! Once that happens you will make all the time in the world to get there. I love my 997 on the street, on the track it is like a drug!

heel/toe is tough and takes a lot of practice to get really good at it. it's impossible to do it well unless you have really small feet or buy really narrow shoes.

I think I am just jealous because I can't get the heel toe thing happening very well. I just can't twist my leg and foot to do it like I was shown by an instructor

I read through some instructions and modified the foot positions a little. In the instruction I read, it was showing the right heel to be pushing at the base of the gas peddle.

I find it just a bit easier to use the ball of the right foot to brake while sort of rolling the right side of the foot back over the gas. The key is the right shoe with a good feel and just work with rolling the foot until you get used to feeling the gas peddle.

At first, I was giving it a little too much gas.

Good luck,

Signed, Clarabell the Clown

I have been using the same technique, I just can't get enough of the gas pedal, perhaps I should get a size 14 for my right foot

I hear ya man...i had mine out today and each time i go for a "rip" it seems to get faster...and the steering gets tighter...and the shifting is on point. I fall more and more in love with this car each time i drive it.

I also need to get to the track....although im a little worried that once i do things will get ugly - FAST - as in, new brakes, roll bar, suspension, etc

Enjoy it!

haha I'm a 13 so believe me I understand. Pumas are pretty decent they're made narrow, or pilotis, but with our feet size there's not much you can do except drive barefoot.
