My dad's retirement is fast approaching and he loves the 997 Targa 4S... thinking it would make a great retirement gift, but I can't find any cars in stock. Is there a way to search the national dealer database for what's available in inventory?

Criteria:

Must be a 4S
Must be either new or less than 5k mi
Must have a 6-speed manual
Must be either a dark color, white, or silver (no Guards, Zenith, etc.)
Would prefer a nicely-optioned car

I figure folks on here visit showrooms often enough that I'd take a stab at it. If you've seen a nice Targa 4S on the lot at your local dealer, pls respond or PM me. Thanks.

 

2 ways to check:

1) go to porsches website and search the dealers inventory, one by one, might take you a while haha.

2) call your dealer and talk to a salesman, have him check the nationwide inventory. many times dealerships swap cars, so they might be willing to get the car for you.

If all else fails call Porsche headquarters and have them check

There is a low mileage Targa 4S for sale at Porsche dealer in Monterey, CA. It has been on market for over 2 months, and price has been dropped down to $83,900. It is white with gray interior, full leather. It is on Autotrader. Suggest you do a nation-wide search on Autotrader for Targas, as most dealers will list their used cars there.

 

Boardwalk in Plano TX has two on inventory/pending incoming, one white, one black
Guadin in Vegas has one Ruby Red
Braman in West Palm shows one Meteor/Black, and one Ruby/Sand
Champion in Pompano FL shows two white/sand
Euroclassics in Midlothian VA near Richmond shows one Slate/Sand (Mike Falcone)
Porsche of Naples FL shows Black/Sand
Schneider/Nelson in West Long Branch NJ shows Midnight/Sand

I was at Circle Porsche in Long Beach, CA a couple of days ago, and they had a new black Targa on the lot. Their number is (562) 494-1911....the salesman I was talking to was named Robert Fisher and he was very knowledgable. I think it was also black interior, but was looking at Cabriolets so didn't look to closely at it. I have no idea if it had had Tip. I am pretty sure it had the Turbo 19" wheels, so it's probably loaded up.
