"So, I am guessing that with factory PSE you will get throttle mapping when engaging the Sport mode even if you disengage the suspension?!?"

YES

Are you guys saying the exhaust gets louder when you hit the “Sport” button?
Like a Corvette Z06?? (Z06 gets louder when you mash the gas peddle, works off vacuum.)
05 Carrera S - With the two outlet mufflers, outside outlets larger, inside outlets smaller.

I think the easiest way to tell is the driver with PSE with a bigger smile on his face and his car sounds like a lion roaring.

Exactly!
The nice thing about this feature is that you get BOTH sensations when you hit the sport button.
An increase in throttle response (feels like more power) and a nice mean sounding exhaust to add to this.
I am sure my heart rate increases by about 10% too!!!

Full time Sport Exhaust...

Perhaps everyone but me already knew this, but there is a plug-in connector in the engine compartment that controls the baffles in the sport exhaust, and simply keeping it disconnected runs the sport mode (open baffles) full time. I like for two reasons - first is you get a nice growl at start up. In the factory set up, you have to start the car first (quiet mode automatically) and then switch the sport button to change the exhaust. Secondly, you will notice that the aggressive sound stays throughout the RPM range. In the factory set up - even with the sport mode on - the car get noticeably quieter circa 4K RPM range.

May be it is different from year to year? My 07 997S has PSE from factory. When I have the key in and before I start the engine, I can press the Sport button and the PSE will be ON (i.e. loud mode) when the engine starts.

Regards,

Only when you can write something that makes sense.
