Quote: 12.8 is very fast for a stock 997. Most magazines and shows I have seen have a S version doing the 1/4 mile in 12.8-13.0. The Turbo does the 1/4 in 12.5.

What mods did you do to the 3.6L in a standard Carrera?
just the PSE and sport chrono, the car is light I ordered it with no extra's my reg says it weighs 2910 most people on the forum say that can't be true ,Maybe it is?

I got a 2.1 60 cause of ****ty tires and still managed a 12.77 and a 111 trap.

great ET, the trap speed is more indicative of the car's true speed.

Something seems off...Porsche say's a Carrera weights 3075 to 3296lbs with the manual transmission depending on options. This is a dry weight no fluids. All the car mags claim the S version does the 1/4 mile around 12.8 to 13. Your lower powered standard Carrera did it in 12.8? Well that is the time you got so congrats on a great car and great driving!

My stock S did 12.8 in a 1/4 mile but I couldn't get it under that. I will try next time after all the mods I did to see the difference....very excited

post after you run with the mods lets see how much of a differnce it will make.
I tell you I think I can go faster I just need to lower the pressure in the rear tires, warm up the tires and when in 3rd get out to 4th around 5500 rpm's

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe a 996 Turbo Cab, and that's mediocre for even that car.

Quote: Wow awesome run! 12.8 on a non-S is very good.
Agreed. I wonder what the C2S's are doing at the track?

on a road course with the divers being equal the S should do much better ,the Suspension is much tighter.
On the 1/4 I have been hearing the S is doing 12.8.
