Should be very close but I'd bet the new PDK S will be a bit faster.

I am pissed because my 08 c2s will be in any day and I had no idea about this.
Looks like I didnt do my homeworks and you know my dealer wasn't gonna tell me
The car you ordered has been tested. It will be more reliable. You won't have to worry about Direct Ignition engine issues or DSG reliability... It is bascially the same car.... More horespower doesn't mean anything... It is the total ride.... Congratulations!

I also would not worry about it as the internal/external changes are subtle except for the performance and some high tech enhancements like LED and bluetooth. We should all be happy and thank Porsche for doing that.

don't worry, if you like the look of '09, you can probably upgrade to that bumper soon. I say GT3 bumper all the way.

It's not like Porsche to put out something and have major issues with it. Direct Injection has been around a long time on car so this technology is not new to Porsche. DSG??? Porsche has been racing the PDK style system for years and this type of dual clutch transmission is not new for them.

Quote: Well...........almost stole it!

You can't compare the TDI technology to the normally aspirated direct injection technology.

Also, their will be no mistake that your driving a 997 with PDK with the driving a Jetta or Audi TT with DSG. Similar theories..........different application and Porsche is the inventor of the VW/ AUDI dual clutch tecnology anyway.

Umm... totally wrong. It was a joint Borg Warner and Volkswagen project to develop DSG. Porsche had its own attempt at a dual clutch system (concentric housing system that has been talked about here and on other forums) that failed and was being considered originally for the final CGTs. They've now reverted to a system that is very, very similar to the BW/VW system.
