Today i test drove the 911, may be the CS handles better on a track etc but O my, the 911 feel from the rear engine and how it squats while accelerating was just awesome, the sunroof is a bonus

IMHO the 6 speed in the 911 feels much smoother over the CS and boster S gear boxes for some reason

I have a few questions
1) I will wait for the 09 models( 345 Hp ) and get a 911 with sport seats and is anyone considering to get the dual clutch?
2) Is the 911 C4 worth it over 911 and where is the AWd useful?
3) I got a 8% discount when i ordered the CS, what are 911 owners getting?

Thanks
With the economy in a possible recession, you should be able to get a discount..... I will get the '09 Targa 4S.... Like the wide *ss and like the way it drives.... Will be my first AWD car.... Also, will get the DSG.

1) Nobody has driven the PDK box so any advice given is speculation. Personally, I could care less about incremental 10ths on a racetrack and really enjoy the challenge of executing good shifts so I wouldn't consider the PDK box. But my P car is also my third car and I don't have to slug it out in traffic. To each their own.
2) Personal opinion. If you don't live somewhere rainy (Seattle) or snowy then I think the AWD isn't necessary and other than the appeal of the wider rear hips you're paying more $ for a heavier car with more maintenance. I didn't even consider a "4" model.
3) I did quite a bit better than that with my 2008 C2S in March and I suspect that the market is softer today given the state of the economy. I am not sure about getting any kind of a discount on the 09's, at least not for the first few months.

philcr2800 is infamous around these parts
I personally have chosen a C4 for the way it handles the road, not only in rainy, wet conditions (forget about snow without winter tyres anyway) but railroad-like drive at high speed, less understeering, better grip in narrow turn pin. It is slightly heavier indeed but ends up with a slightly better balance too as all additional weight is on the front. I personally do not like the larger hips much but most do prefer it. A true downside is that it makes the trunk even smaller. Surprinsingly, fuel consumption is identical according to Porsche.

How do you order a wide-body C2-S?

You dont. Not available. If you want a S wide you buy a 993. I am not sure if 996 is available wide other than turbo

My understanding of big bootied Porsches is that in the 996 generation there was no such thing as a C2S, only C2, C4, C4S and Turbo. C4S and TT got the wider body, regular 2 and 4 did not. With the 997 generation, C2 and C2S are narrow body whereas the C4/C4S and TT are wide. Is this right?

Being a big booty lover, you hit it on the head. Absolutely correct!
