Need to vent! AHHH
So I just need to vent a bit..
It's been a little over 4 months since I put in my order for a new 997. I've tracked it during the build process and even during the boat ride over to its off load at San Diego on Sun 6/8. So it's been just over a week and it's still there. I can see a few days for the PDI and waiting for a transport but over a week is a bit long. (unless the car was damaged during transport and is being repaired). So today I sent a email to my salesperson and CC'd the owner of the dealership to see if they can call the port to find out what the hold up is. On a normal allocated car ok I could see a hold up, but on a cust order they should get it to the dealer as quick as possible. I wanted to cc someone at PCNA but I couldn't find anything anywhere on the web or their web site.
This last part of the order process of waiting when the car is only a 2 hour drive away is killing me.. Thanks for letting me vent.
One more quick question, what's the policy on the dealership stating if the car was damaged and repaired during transport .

To try to justify "why" it takes so long at the port:
Your car is among 1,000's of cars,I do mean 1,000's.At our lot they are off-loaded from the ship and parked all together in a lot with no lanes to drive out(pic attached). So they will start processing the cars one at a time sorting them in a "destination row".After that they will be trucked to the dealership.
It is funny how sometimes the car gets lost in the lot.Somebody moves it and doesn't submit a document to it new location.I have seen cars sit for over 45 days
!!!Now IF your car has been damaged...!
If it is a simple scratch or small ,I do not believe they have to tell you.Especially if the port is a designated "factory paint facility".The only time they would say something is if the car has sustained any type of bending that would need to be "pulled" out.If th part can be un-bolted and replaced you would never know.
I still get my cars painted at the port I worked at...!their paintwork IS some of the best quality. They have to match manufacture's specs.
So don't worry it probably is just in the line of cars waiting to get processed. The lot in the pic is when it was not busy.It can have 5 acres of cars(5,000 +cars).
