I have 32,000 miles on my 997S that I bought in September of 2004 and I had the transmission replaced at ~100 miles and the head unit replaced at ~31,000 miles. Otherwise, the car has been absolutely flawless.

73,541 miles on a 2005 C2S purchased CPO from dealer in July 2006 with about 15,000 miles. Clutch slave cylinder went out at about 40,000, otherwise not a single problem.

My slave cylinder went 40 miles ago. Forgot to mention that.

Why a new engine? from the 2 posts it seems that reliability sucked. I hope these are extreme minority.

The reliability of these cars is great. Mine was replaced due to the dealer not putting coolant back in after draining it, resulting in engine failure. Oh well, free engine for me!

31K and change, had a bad battery - replaced a front wheel bearing - probably getting close to a new clutch...battery and wheel bearing were both covered by warranty. Rick @ Newport Porsche has been great not other problems.
