I just gulped when I saw the price . I paid low 80's for an MSRP 90K 2007 back in 20007 NEW and they have the audacity to ask 75K for used 06 ?

Not to mention a discontinued color and Tiptronic?

The car wholesale is worth in the 50's and retail in the upper 50's and at best on a sunny day low 60's to the person who wants to over pay .

I would not even negotiate it with them because I don't care how good it looks .. They've priced themselves out of the market.

You won't get an S in the low 50's . The dealership will take it in trade at that price though unless they don't want to insult the owner and offer a figure over allotment and attach it to the new car .

They will ask high 60's and dream of getting low 60's . It's the end of the month and upper 50's to low 60's can be bought this week for an 06 .

Asking 75 though is dreamland . At that price he is almost in a new 08 car before the facelift.

You've got to love these types of replies, especially when nothing to back it up or help the original post is attached. Although I agree the asking price is high, the mileage is low and the market is still supporting this. The car described above does not exist. We have all seen a few low priced, low mileage deals to
be had, but they are few and far between.

Are you suggesting that I find a 2006 997S in the upper 50's to low 60's for him ? There are numerous low mileage 997S cars with ask prices way under 75K and he doesn't need to look far to find that . Here's one which had trouble selling MONTHS ago in the mid 60's . https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...highlight=997s

I don't see you "backing up" that there isn't one unless you are going by MSRP listings which differs from actual cost .

We all know that car had trouble selling for some reason, could have been the discontinued seal grey. However, other than that car, their are not many, or any, low mileage cars being advertised or that would accept low $60's, nevertheless high $50's.

The original poster's car is seal grey and they are asking 10K more and its months later .

All discontinued colors are "special order" and I like it very much but this color (plentiful on 05 -07) cars has no claim to a 75K ask price .

If anything I speculate that if a special order color is rarely seen on the market it might have some effect (plus or minus depending on color) . This is not the case with seal . In fact it's even the showcase color for the car for those years which means it's abundant and might even be considered dated based on having been replaced in 08 .

$75K???? Yikes!!! I paid not much more for a similarly equipped (except for the Tip) new 2008 ($94k sticker) with zero miles a few months back. With the facelift out very shortly, I've got to imagine that there are even better deals to be had on remaining in stock '08s.
