Question 09 paint to sample; NO 356 COLORS!!??

Long time lurker and first time poster,

Can any dealer or salesman confirm that an 09 997 can NOT be painted to sample in a 356 color?

I am putting together an order and was just told this, and well I am thinking this is BS.

Why not get a paint swatch of the colour that you want and give it to the dealer.

Hi North,

Actually I did that, and was told no 356 colors??? The news was relayed to me by the salesman, supposedly he was told by PCNA. This just does not make any sense.

Well, As of this point we are not able to order paint to sample cars just yet. Porsche has not released that option yet. The only way Porsche will not reproduce a certain color is if the bumpers and the rest of the cars do not match. I have tried to order a pearl white cab and Porsche would not make it since the bumpers and the rest of the cars are different materials the colors would be off a bit and not look right. Sometimes if you bring in a color that is a fraction off the original color they might go for it. Send me a message if you have any questions and I will try and answer it to the best of my ability. Where in Cali are you?

I can understand why they don't want to do the Pearl. I had an Audi S4 with the Pearl, and it looked great at new, and 4 years later it looked off.

I am in Nor Cal.

The reason this is weird is that this is not a "light" color. I do not think the sample was even submitted to Porsche something just does not feel right about this.

What is the name of the color? When do we paint to sample cars if it is a color that Porsche has already done all we do is put in the name. I can call our rep to make sure

PTS is always an option, if you are willing to pay and wait. Give it a few weeks, it will likely show as the option books are not up to date for '09. Email me if you need to review specific updated codes to earlier model year colors. We do this all the time on custom work.
