Bilstein, KW or Cross
Bilstein, KW or Cross
Hey Guys: I am getting ready to do my first mod's since owning my 05 C2 well other than clear side markers.
I have a set of 19" HRE 540R on order with new PS2. I want to take the step and get coil overs on it with the new shoes. So after a little searching it is still hard to tell what everyone thinks. It looks like KW may go a bit lower... are you guys using the ability to control compression and rebound seperatly???
Ride Quality??
I'll do the occasion track day, but I live out on country roads Thanks guys can't wait to fianally change the look of my car and I want to get it right.

if you had PASM it would be Bilstein.
You have a C2 so I am assuming that you don't have PASM. I am not sure why you need to be as low as a suspension will go, you drive country roads. I have no opinion on any other products other then the Bilsteins, I enjoy the ride that I get from my suspension, as well Bilstein gives you a life time warranty.

guess I should be more clear. I have heard in order to get even to a resonable lowered look 1.25" it takes the Bilstein to a point the shock piston is not in it's sweet spot????? I agree do not want to slam it all they way down want something resonable for the street.
just reading the cross website info and they claim they use a varible mounting point to get the ride height, then the piston is in the middle of the travel?
Also curious about the seperate rebound and compresion dampening adjustments??
PS: also mine is not PSAM

I have mine lowered to ROW height, which is about 1/2 lower then the stock, yours being a C2 is not as low as the PASM cars, but I would think that 1 1/4 inches is too low, at least for my standards. I would call one of the site sponsors and ask what there opinion is about the different suspensions. I spoke to Mike at AWE and he was very knowledgeable about the Bilsteins.
Either way a CO suspension is an excellent upgrade.

Agreed. My Bilstiens are just sitting here now. Not the best for the track, and I changed from street to track. PM me if you want them. They're perfect.
