*** Updated *** New Mods - Pictures Added

I ordered my next mod today from Suncoast Parts, Ric was excellent to deal with and was able to answer all of my questions. On it's way is a set of 996 GT3 Seats, GT3 Harnesses, and a Roll Bar. Anyone else have this in there 997?

Ed

Actually, the price wasn't too much, and I figured the harnesses will save me big on the hole in the floor board were the dead pedal sits. Under heavy braking, I feel like I am going to step through the Dead Pedal, just to keep me in place. A few of my friends have these seats and there only regret is not getting them sooner.

I look forward to meeting you as well, hopefully you still have your cab.

NorthVan, isn't it getting about time to put the sport cars away up in Canada in a few weeks?

Like many of our friends to the south, you are unaware of our weather in the Western Part of Canada. We don't advertise this, as we want to keep this area to ourselves, but we tornado free, flood free, and even very little snow (except for the mountains). We do get a little bit of rain, and a few more dark cloudy days. I know that Florida has much nicer weather, but as global warming and climate change kick in, we are the next California

I still have lots of track days left and I will do a whole bunch more next year.

As for the rest of Canada, you are pretty close to the mark on a few more weeks until winter sets in

Not sure what the weight savings is, you could call Ric @ Suncoast Porsche.

I know it should probably offset the weight of the scaffolding (roll bar). I wasn't as concerned about weight savings as a few pounds aren't going make a difference, I wanted to keep myself more stationary on the track instead of working to keep me in the right driving position.

996 gt3 seats are an excellent choice. Are you getting the Tequipment roll bar?

Yes, and the Porsche GT3 6pt Harnesses. Can't wait for the first track day with these seats and harnesses.

We did a weight comparison a few months ago. We had a stock Boxster seat (no electronics, lumbar, heat, etc...) and it weighed in at 46 lbs. The black leather GT3 seat with rails weighs 26 lbs. Two GT3 seats and the Tequipment rollbar (~33 lbs) weigh less than the stock seats alone, especially if your stock seats do have all the electronic goodies in them!
