If you had to pick one performance mod, what would it be?

I am very happy with the "S" and really dont plan on doing any major mods, but is there a consensus on what is the best bang for buck mod out there?
Lets break it down by Suspension-Engine if possible.

Driver training.
I suspect the vast majority of us get nowhere near the limit of even a stock 911, let alone one with modifications.
Tightening the loose nut behind the wheel is probably the best way to spend your money. It will transfer to any vehicle, won't wear out, and won't affect the warranty! The PSDS is awesome!

Easy IMO
here are some options.... not all for perf as some are looks/styling/sound
1. B/M short shifter (best money spent thus far IMO)
2. Bypass valve on exhaust (if you do not have PSE) sound is so much better then stock and really a cheap mod.
3. Coil Overs, -not just springs-
4. FRONT End...Chin spoiler of some kind, IMO stock 997 front end looks very passive almost boring (dare I say) I like the aero kit front end and a select few after market front chin spoilers.
5. Pedal sets are nice to dress up the interior, I like www.rennline.com
one mod = B/M
happy modding....careful, its addicting buddy

Are you wanting mods for looks or for performance?

I did it in three big deals but on my car the mods were evolving as my car was new . The 997S has been around for along enough time to get the entire shin dig in one package.
I agree that DE's (and lots of them) will be the best way to improve your car, however if it was just about making a change on your car, I would install Coil Overs, huge improvement in handling.
BTW I am doing 12 DE's this year (and more) if I can find more dates.

Best bang for the buck when it comes to water cooled NA porsche tuning.
