Pricing Help please....

2006 C4 (non-s). 6 Speed. 23k miles, CPO warranty at Porsche dealer. Silver / black. Options: Full Leather, Nav, TPMS, Power Seat Pkg, Xenons, Heated Seats, CD Changer, Bose, Porsche Crest in Heeadrests and Mats.

Dealer asking $69k. Original sticker was close to $90k.
My online research tells me this thing should trade close to 60k -- am I crazy?

Without even asking, I was offered $10k off any new 2008 on the lot....Which means you could get a base 2008 C2 for about 70k...

thoughts? Thanks!

Agreed. Not sure what the "right price" is but that's definitely high. Besides the full leather, I don't see anything on the options list that stands out. Mileage is good, but not pristine for an '06.

I'm looking at similarly optioned '05 C2S's in the $60-64k range w/ less mileage and in the Northeast where it's harder to comparison shop. Granted they're 1 year older and 2-wheel drive, but also S . . . If you think those largely balance out, you're looking at $62-64k being fair and < $62 being pretty good.

And as cephas pointed out - why are you going for a 4?

You should be paying closer to $60k for that car. Ask yourself if you really need the "4" - Unless you are in nasty weather country you don't need it. Heavier car. Ads to price premium in dealer's eyes.
I've seen alot of dealers with the high asking prices and guess what, they have been sitting on these cars for quite awhile. Ask the salesman how long that car has been on the lot.

For comparison's sake, I picked up my 06 C2 cab / 14k mi / 1 owner / all options except Chrono for $57k. Granted I got a great deal, but I would not have paid more than low 60's for it.

The answer is simple . They are ready to sell you a new car and for whatever reason are not ready to sell that particular used car (it is priced high).

So
1) you can buya new car from them
or
2) look elsewhere for a used car

thanks everyone! I'm really trying to stay in the $60k range, so as tempting as the undriven '08 is.....i think i'll keep looking used. I like the AWD for largely an emotional reason: I'm convinced it saved my life once while pushing my S4 pretty hard. My wife has a similar story in her X5 4.4, so we've sort of committed to always owning AWD cars... another way of saying I'm rationalizing an extra $5k due to "safety" concerns (which are likely dubious, i know...i know).

Thanks again for the help. I really like this '06, so I think I will offer $60 and see what they say, be ready to walk away. There is always another car if you are patient!

They are willing to offer $10k off on an 08. Is it all heavily optioned 08's?

Do they have any basic C2 or C2S?

Thanks.
