^^ My source for mesh: www.afterhoursautomotive.com - call and talk to Brian, he stocks it for use on track cars. he used the 1/8" square weave on my top vents and 1/4" weave on the front radiator openings. The stuff does not dent, it gives and springs back.

Razor knife- "Utility Knife" - Home Depot, metal handle with a slide-forward slanted razor blade.

I'm looking for suppliers of the various meshes (diamond, square, hex, round, etc)... there has to be a metal supplier to get them from.. trying to avoid the inevitably marked up sheets from an auto customize shop.

I did the cut out for the grill on my stock S bumper, cutting the bumper was not difficult but the problem I encountered was the grill did not sit flat on the S bumper maybe because there is slight difference with the shape of the S bumper compared to the Gt3 bumper. Or just maybe there were nowhere to screw the grill onto. We had to hold it down with silicone, lots of it!

It looked ok after that. But eventually I went for the Gt3 bumper when Suncoast lowered the price.

Do you have pic of the GT3 vent on your stock S bumper?

Is it possible to mode the GT bumper to eliminate the lower ground clearance and get it back to the height of the stock 997 bumper by removing the lower trim? For me its an issue of not wanting the bumper any closer to the ground.

The support issue could be solved by adding the necessary support for the vent under the bumper, or using the 'clips' described in the linked Cayman threads earlier.

Does anyone have a picture of the inside of the GT3 bumper where I could see how the vent attaches to the GT3 bumper?

Is it a frame that is integral to the bumper cover, or is it a separate part?

Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the black plastic piece on the factory aerokit that covers the area where the the GT3 third radiator vent's normally. I wanted to place screens on the openings but thought it would look better if the screens were placed in all three openings instead of just the side radiator vents.

yes... you can just replace it with the piece the GT3 has

GT3 retaining frame center 997.505.541.01

the standard 997 has 997.505.541.00

sure let me know when. also, i have a set of side screens already made and glued to the housings. just need to swap housings off your GT3 bumper. the center grilles just sandwich together. no glue required.

I am interested. Let me know how much? Will save me some time from having to form the outer ones myself.
