The floor was done by a local company here in Austin. Took a day for sanding and 3 days for the coatings. Base, dots and top coat. Then stay off for 5 days as in cures.

These are the guys who did the floor. you might see a familiar pic or two

So now I need to order some stuff for the walls...

I've been contemplating an epoxy floor ... but the need to re-do it periodically keeps suggesting its just not worth the cost.

How much did the entire install cost from the company?

In answer to some of the questions:
The floor was just over $3K for a 28WX24D floor.

The cabinets came from Lowe's. They are made by Coleman, the camping-gear company. Nice designs and sturdy.

Flooring choice?

I've been considering a garage floor covering for some time, and minutes before reading this thread, I ordered a tile system from Costco (!). Picked them because (although they didn't have the exact color I wanted - solid white) they are the best service retail company to deal with. So if I have any problem, I know they'll help out.
Anyway, the question is, coating or tiles? Why did you choose the latter? Both look great to me, but I want to be sure I didn't make a mistake in choosing the former.
Thanks,

I've been sort of looking into this also and here's what I've come up with. Some of the coatings I've been looking into can be self applied and may not come out as amazing as the above pics but still gives a really nice finished product, for a pretty affordable price. The downside is every once in a while (not sure how often) you may need to give a new coat, etc. The tiles on the other hand might cost more upfront for materials and labor but won't need to be maintained like the coating would be. Again, I'm nowhere near an expert on the subject, but this is just what I've been coming up with.

i personally didn't investigate going the tile route. But I have seen some really great applications on this forum and others. You can really get creative with the tile layout. Good luck!

What is the expected time that the floor needs to be recoated with epoxy?

With hot tire wear, etc. the norm is that even with a pro installation, you will have to recoat the floor at some point... I'm curious what the that timeframe is for your install.

A lot of people have "lawn service" so there isn't a lawn mower, edger, etc. 95% of my neighbors don't own a lawn mower.

ATL-Porsche is correct! No lawn work here, no mower, etc.

According to the floor company it's got 10+ year guarantee. So that might be just hype; guess we'll just have to wait and see. I've been letting the tires cool down first - a bit gun shy at the moment, I suppose.
