GTS-R is infamous around these parts
Is that 295/35-18 and 305/30-19?

If you upgrade the C4 to 19s, do you get 305/30-19?

The new 2009 brochures that just arrived at the US dealerships show:

C4 - 295/35 ZR 18
C4S - 305/30 ZR 19

My guess is you do, I did a quick build a found that it is worth to go with the 4s because some of the options are standard, by the time u add the 19, and a few others, there is not a lot of saving...

Yes. It is a $0 option on the C4S.

You are right, I just did a C4 vs C4s build I am considering which came to $92K vs $99K. Hard to argue against 40 hp with whatever extras the S gives you for only $7K.

Aside from the engine, 19s and PASM, what else does the S give you over the standard car?

Both s and non s have the same exact brakes for 2009...the s gets red "painted" calipers versus black..both have indentical hardware

Not true: the S has 13" rotors all around - the base has 12.5" up front and 11.8" in the rear.

Congrats. I was initially in the market for a C2S but somehow ended up with a 997 C4S and couldn't be happier. Since this is my first P-car I can't really comment between a 2S vs. 4S, but I figured you can't go wrong with either.

I had thought the 4S was overkill due to the additional weight but after recently being in a friend's new TT I believe the 4S is much more advantageous.

For 2008, you would be correct, but for 2009....sorry the S and non S all have 13" rotors(p.83 2009 911 sales brochure)....S rotors do get the larger, reinforced calipers and the red paint job.

For 2009 the diameter of the rotors are going to be the same however the S rotors are thicker. Not sure at this point how much but they will be thicker. The Calipers are not the same at all. Its not only paint differences the S has the Same type of Calipers in past generations along with larger brake pads and more reinforcement. These Calipers are set up to where you can remove the brake pads without taking the caliper off the car. The new Standard brake calipers have extra reinforcement on the top side of the calipers. This makes it impossible to change pads without removing the calipers. You'll be able to see these in person in less than 9 days as your local dealerships should start to get their launch cars.

Congratulations on your new 911. It seems the new 4S is the hottest version so far. When it comes to pre sold allocations.
