TT Bumper on a Carrera?

Has anyone put a TT front bumper on a Carrera? I understand that it's an easy job, but I haven't seen it.

Since the 997.2 has a new front fascia, which include LED's, I thought the TT front with LED's might be a better choice to upgrade my 997, and not be poseur as it's simply a classy OEM upgrade, along the lines of all the folks who add the GT3 front end, tail, etc. not being poseurs either.

Thoughts?

I've spoken with my master tech, and he said that the wiring necessary to support LED's is a very significant/ wiring harness changeover and programming retrofit, meaning: not worth it.

He does work for me on the side, so I trust him. Still, I want to do it, and will pursue this option, and keep you posted.

Still looking for anyone who has done this. I cannot imagine being the first on this site!!!!!!!

Did your tech specifically mention why wiring to support the turbo or 997.2 LEDs would be any different than installing LED bulbs into the standard sockets? The 997.1 turn signal housings consist of a "parking light" and a turn signal light, each of which has their own socket connection.

-If the turbo or 997.2 housings use sockets, all you would need to do is put resisters in-line to simulate a full incandescent load.
-If the turbo or 997.2 housings use a wiring harness, then you can simply splice the wires from the existing sockets into the new LED unit - not overly hard to do.

Finally if you're really only interested in the new LED look and don't have a desire to run the new LED unit as a DRL, no reprogramming would be required since you're really just doing a 1:1 swap of the parking lights and turn signal lights.

IMO, the bigger question is whether the turbo or new 997.2 bumpers bolt up to the 997.1 C2/C2S body. Has anyone tried this before? I called a few dealers in my area and none of them seem to be able or willing to tell me definitively.
