Price check on C2S
Price check on C2S
I'm toying with the idea of getting a MkII/PDK and was wondering what a fair price range for my car would be. It's pretty nicely set up so I'd prefer to keep it in the 6speed family rather than trade it in. I know there are some pretty skilled market watchers here so any help appreciated.
05 C2S launch car, blk/blk, manual tranny, 24K miles. Overall condition is very good, typical **** retentive 6speedonline car. This car has been in 6speedonline owner hands since new.
All launch options including nav, adaptive sport seats, full leather, bi-xenon, PCCB's. etc. Original MSRP ~$100k
Aftermarket:
Rinspeed rear wing, exhaust surround and side skirts. Wing looks like a 996 GT2 wing.
Full GT3 nose and Bilstein Damptronics, all done by Sharkwerks.
Track alignment by TC Design.
19" Champion one piece forged wheels with black centers and polished rims.
Fabspeed headers
EVOMS CAI
Custom fleece lined indoor car cover and several other minor items.
Car was just given a clean bill of health at Carlsen Porsche.
Thanks!

Nicely optioned, but without CPO, you're probably looking at 60K. CPO'd '05s will have full warranty until 2011. This one may be out of warranty now or early '09. Current CPO'd 05's in Southern Cali are running 62-67K depending on options and condition of the vehicle.
Either way, very nice vehicle and good luck with the sale.

Just out of curiosity, I wonder what a same mileage basic C2S without the Champion wheels, nav, PCCB's, A.S.S. seats, leather, GT3 nose, suspension, intake/exhaust, etc. goes for these days? I'm guessing these options don't make all that much difference. $52 maybe? Is a 20k mile non-S Carrera below $50K these days?
Cheers,

You'll get more buyers and more money selling it in clean stock form. Ask $60k and expect to take around $56-57k if you want it to actually sell. Maybe you can up the final price to a prospective buyer by offering the wheels separately for a few k extra. Tough I know.
Sell the aftermarket add-ons separately, that is your best bet to recoup some $. Leaving them on the car is pratically a give away. You can probably get $3k for the wheels / tires alone.
Best of luck!

If you sell goodies separately (prices are guesstemates):
Rinspeed rear wing = $1200
Exhaust surround = $300
Side skirts = $500
Full GT3 nose = $1200
Bilstein Damptronics = $1800
19" Champion one piece forged wheels = $3k w/ tires
Fabspeed headers = $500
EVOMS CAI = $300
Total recoup = $8800 approx.
So, if you sell the car for $56k and the goodies for say $8500, your total recoup is $64,500
Even if it costs you $500 in labor to switch the suspension and wheels back, you still come out ahead vs leaving the parts on the car.
My crazy logic-

Personal opinion is that I think the same as an insurance company does. You'll never get back what you paid for the aftermarket options and you can't reflect that in the price of a used car without pigeon holing your car into even more of a niche market.
However the factory options are sometimes what attracts people to buy your car over another. Aftermarket options that are thrown in for free will also make your car more attractive than the hundreds of other cars like yours.
That's the key, keep the aftermarket options and sell them but leave on those that would make your car stand out over another car just like yours without a large price bump.
