Upgrade to 09 c4s?

I am considering to get the 09 C4s to replace my 06 C2s. I like the facelift, and the wider body 4s. I was not crazy on the new front on either the blue and green thye have in the showroom, but I think the car will look sharp on the a lighter color car, white, M. gray, silver, cream white. I do have some concern that this is the first year of 997.2 production, should I wait 6 months to a year to see if it has any major issues before I jump into it? Or there shouldn’t really be any issues.

the newer engine and lighting package is clearly superior to the mk1 997. and if you're into the pDK (I am), it's more than just a refresh.. it's a new car.

all the other front bumper stuff is rather trivial and if we're going to get into that level of detail, then... well i honestly think you're just trying to puff up your existing mk1.

i say go for it if you have the means... im just trying to pump up your desire.

widebody is the only way to fly

It s the new car part that concern me. I am going to shame myself in this forum to announce that I am a lazy driver, so PDK is a must. I love Porsche for its industry design. And LOVE the wider body!

Whats the rush? You already have a great car, hang back and pull the trigger after the FL has had time to work out any bugs. Plus, if your going for the PDK, my friend who works for a dealer said when he was over in Germany, there was talk of "improving" the shifting on the wheel...hmmmmmmmmmm. Also, make sure you like the stripe on the 09 4S. I for one had a 09 C4S on order but decided to pick up the one you see in my avatar...I just like the clean back better...I bet the stripe doesn't make it to the next generation 998...IMO it looks like an after thought.

FL is a PDK play, if your rowing gears...no hurry.

You may have to wait til Jan anyway. I hear that they are not making C4S until November, meaning the earliest car will arrive in the US will be December.

I think the launch car will be here end of next month. If I were to order one, you are right, I wouldn’t have a car till Jan/Feb.

Yes, I can‘t wait to see that red stripe in person. It looks good against gray in the pictures, thinner than the 996 4/4s. Will have to see how it looks on the street... But I do agree that it is cleaner without it, so I might hate it. Took me three visit to get over the new intake on the front. I think the current front is a cleaner design.
