I love the Bose of the 997
and the system of my 08 M5 sounds sick!!!
my last E46 M3 H&K was a disaster!

An understatement for sure.

That product is marketed with hype but does not cut the mustard in the pure audiophile world.

Stick with an analog system if possible and then upgrade with good equipment.

To anyone who thinks their Bose system sounds really good, it is probably the CAR that it is in, which makes the difference. You could probably put any generic mid-range system or even stock factory (ie likely Panasonic built) system in those cars and get good sound. For a sports car, the music is background tracks for the engine, and to keep you entertained at the stop lights.
