My 2009 Simple Carrera S
I hope to get the car out on the track next year sometime...I really miss the track!
Thanks! I have not played with the launch control yet. It is kind of hard to do with me only having one leg to work with. I have ben thinking of heel and toeing it to see if that will work.
A few weeks ago I was at my local P Dealer and the Sales Mgr asked a friend and me if we wanted to see/test drive the new S PDK and we jumped at the chance.
Horst first took us out (friend shoe horned in the back) and the drive was non eventful up US 1 at 35 - 45 mph.
He then turned on a side street and stopped the 911,, Hit a few Sport Buttons to set up the launch control.
Then hit the brake with the left foot and the gas with the right foot until the RPMs were around 6,500,,, let his foot off the break ,,,, WOW
We were catapuled like a jet on an aircraft carrier and my bud and I were both light headed for a moment in time.
To 40 MPH this feels faster then my TT,, amazing power to the wheels.
With my car there would be skipping, thumping, etc..
The launch control with the PDK is just outstanding.
Guess you can work on toe and heeling until you get the correct mix between the brake and the gas.
Good Luck
Let me know how you like the catapulting once you perfect it. I would be on a dead end road in an industrial park area early on a sunday morning practicing this launch control. What a fun morninig that would be!!
