Power Seats

I have the power seat package and was wondering is there any way to program the seats so that when you turn the ignition off the seats move back to make it easier to get out? And then the reverse when you turn the ignition on, the seats automatically move forward? I tried programming the buttons on the door but it only programs a preset position and you have to hold the button down until the seat moves to the desired location.

Thanks
Jon

I have that opition in my Touareg and hate it, I have it turned off.

I think the only way to make it work in your car is to move the seat back after the car is turned off.

no,there is not a provision for moving the seat back/forward automatically.

I set position 1 to put the seat straight back from my 2 driving positions (winter w/ coat and sumer w/o). When I get out of the car I press button 1 to push the seat back enough to get out comfortably. When I lock the car it goes further back to the set full back position for me to drop in. Then I hit the 2 or 3 button to go forward to my driving positions.

Wish it was automatic like some American cars BUT Porsche thinks otherwise.
I liked the setup in my 98 530 i-- it even moved the steering wheel up and out of the way. I think the V-8 Audis do this too.

My wife's A-6 2.7T has a nice setup. You can program each of the keys separately to use the auto seat position memory on unlocking or not. My wife does not use it because she is short and can not get in the car with the seat in her driving position.

I'm thinking that that sort of daily motor work by the seat adjustment motors is guaranteeing the seat will fail way too quickly.

Use an option as it was intended and then have it fail early because its being used....kind of a scary thought.

seems like a lot of work cuz you have to hold the switch each time till the seat stops.
