Is This Brake Dust?

Hey Guys, I know it's a pain to keep ones wheels clean but it seems that I'm getting a light brown film on my wheels..it almost looks like oil.

I polish my wheels all the time...they stay clean for 1 day..

I've looked at it, smelled it, wiped it on a rag, doesnt appear to be oil..is this brake dust?

Also, does anyone know what it would cost to install ceramic(yellow) brakes on a 2006 C4S, is it possible and worth it?

Thanks

It is probably the surface rust that will form right after you wash the car.The next time you wash your car look at the rotors & you will see the rust form on the rotors before you are finished drying it.After you drive the car for the first time after washing it the rotors will be clean of rust, then just use a damp micro fiber cloth & lightly wipe off the brown residue.

PCCB's are a $8000 option from the factory but they would cost you around $12,000 to do aftermarket.

More than likely its the water from inside your rotors. Best thing you can do after washing and cleaning the wheels blow off your wheels with high pressure hose. Finish drying the car. Pull the car forward about 3-5 feet and then blow out the wheels and brakes again. This should help get rid of your rusty colored water that comes out of the rotors while driving.

It's probably a bit of both the oxide that forms on the rotors after washing combined with brake dust.

I wash my car about twice a week and i never got any brown residue after washing, the only thing i get is dust after 3-4 days. I would further look into what your experiencing...thats not to say that the info on here is bad, its just not consistant with anything that I've experienced.
