Evo Shift Link
I just ordered the B&M short shift lit from Bumperplugs. Is it necessary to install the Evo shift link in conjunction?

It's not "necessary" but on some of the older cars the shifter linkage starts to get worn out so we change it (especially on 996s). It's been known to go out....

Do it
I had a B&M Short Shift on my 99 996 C2 and also installed the EvoMS linkage..the stock unit is plastic, and the shifts are SO much crisper and DEFINITIVE with the linkage.
