Chordate is infamous around these parts
I saw a 997 S today at the dealership
and it had painted rear bumperettes, is this now an option or is it standard?

Yeah, all the NA996 (except C4S) had painted bumperettes as of MY02 on (I think even the Boxster!!)...
TT/GT2 owners pay the most and get those ugly black ones!!
