I'm not offended. I have no vested interest either way. Just passing the e-coupon along. I don't know what kind of deal GMP is offering but this is an instant 10% off.

They don't drink beer? Yow, that's cause for worry.
Seriously though, just another endorsement for the product. I've had one for more than 6 months and it is outstanding. Something that should be part of the stock cab offering. I strongly recommend any cab owner to buy one. And it's an interesting install. I got to see parts of the car that I didn't know existed. And you also feel better about paying so much for your car. There's more technology in the convertible top machinery alone than there is in most cars.
Oh, and the usual, 'I have no business or family association with these non-drinking folks...'

6-8 months. No problems. Once or twice it may have gotten confused, but it could have been pilot error. And it took this pilot a bit to figure out the programming protocol, but it's excellent. I'd still give it straight A's.

I had a SmartTop in my 997 cabrio; it worked great until it failed catastrophically. The top was stuck down and the horn blasting. My mechanic was nearby and was able to get the unit out and there was no damage to the car. The dealer reset the top mechanism.

I was out of pocket for installation, removal and two way shipping, plus losing use of the car for four days. I did not even receive the courtesy of a simple apology from the SmartTop manufacturer. Complete indifference to the problems their defective product caused me. A discredit to the aftermarket community.

Wow. That is miserable if not catastrophic. Sample set of 1, but now I'm duly concerned.

I wouldn't be. I have always gotten very prompt answers to any questions I've had. It's a good product and the many happy customers will attest to that. Even the best products fail from time to time. It happens... Despite RMS and failed motors in the 996, Porsche has still continued to sell plenty of 997's

Minok has a spectacular aura aboutMinok has a spectacular aura about
SmartTop for Targa 997.2 - Need your help.

There is one in the works. Anyone in California with a 2009 Targa that can help the cause?

Yes we do, as soon as we get our hands on a 997 Targa in our area (California - do you know somebody close?) we will try to add that
feature.

Greeting Sven,

Hm, too bad. I'd hoped there would be an option to open and close the Targa top with the windows. Is your firm working on such a solution?
