Taking apart fogs

I posted a while back that I was panning on sticking an LED strip in the fog housing, kind of like the 997.2. Anyways does anyone know what I should do to remove the cover. Should I bake them? Anyone know what temp. and time?

These are instructions I found for opening up 350z headlights. Should be the same i'm guessing. If it comes out good, hook me up, I want some LED's on my fog assembly!
Preheat your cooking oven @ 250 degree for 5 minutes.
5 min is up, sit a piece of WET cardboard on top of the plate.
Place your headlight on top of the WET cardboard. (make sure no wires or bulbs are attached
Bake your headlight for 7 minutes.
After 7 minutes, remove it from the oven. The silicone should be melted. With your bare hand, try to open it up by tugging and pulling. If you are not the Incredible Hulk like me, you may need a 2nd person to help you or use a flat head to pry it open.
While opening, make sure no silicone stick inside your housing. If yes try to clean it off.
In case you can't open it. re-wet the cardboard and throw it back in for about 3 minute should be good.

Reassemble Headlights

Push your headlight back together as much as you can.
re-wet the cardboard.
@ 250 degree place the headlight on top of the cardboard for3 min. (not nesscary to pre-heat)
Remove it and push your headlight back together as much as your can. Try your best not to have any opening.
Once together, have some silicone (can pick one up @ your local auto store) and spread it along the housing. this will cover any open holes.
Let it dry before re-installing them.

Thanks V35. If it works I'll definitely be posting up everything I did, and if not I guess I'll be looking for a new fog light housing. Does anyone know what kind of resistor I would need to make it work as the drl? How do I figure that out?

You are going to stick your fog light housing in your cooking oven?? I would be prepared to buy a new fog light just in case. Good luck.

Use a heat gun and watch what you're doing closely or you'll melt the lenses. Keep the heat off the front of the lenses. Once the adheasive is soft pull or gentley pry them apart. Don't bake 'em in the over unless you're planning on having them for dinner.

I'm thinking of doing the baking at 250 for 7 minutes and then having a heat gun ready to apply more heat as i do it. I'm gonna do just one first as I can get a replacement on ebay for about 150 bucks. I don't see how 7 minutes at 250 degrees would melt it, some people bake their lights at much higher temps.
