Clear Side Markers

Anybody have experience in changing to clear front side markers from the standard yellow ones. I think my silver C2 would look better with them.

Is it hard to do? What is the procedure?

Where is the best place to buy them?

Thanks!

i changed ours out on our 996 and our 986. it's very easy to do. the corner headlights pieces are much harder to do w/out breaking the plastic tab off.

i purchased ours from performance parts. no special tools needed. it takes less than 5 mins to do. =) when you go out and look at your side marker, you'll see that you just lift and wiggle a bit. they come off pretty easily. i changed ours from orange to clear.

Got mine from Eric at bumperplugs.com for about $35 for the pair (price may have changed) for factory clear parts. They look much better than the orange ones - actually night and day better. Like BoxterGirlie said: maybe 5 minutes to change them out (you have to remove them to change a burnt out bulb - same procedure). The new ones came with bulbs (orange) already installed. I might swap out the orange bulbs with the clear (white) ones since my DRL keep them on all the time; think it might look nicer. Have to make sure it won't generate a ticket though...

Pretty easy to do, the owner's manual tells you how. Eric @ BumperPlugs is the right guy to get them from. This is what mine looks like with them....

easy - there is a small hole on the inside of the fender (rubber capped). Stick a small scewdriver in there - push to unlock and pull out the marker. 5 minutes.

My salesman gave me a pair when I asked about them. He and I popped the old ones out and the new ones in in less than 2 minutes. Nothing to it.

I think it looks a lot better on my GT Silver car.

I got mine from one of the local dealerships AND they called
a Tech out of the shop who popped them in for me in a quick minute.
He did use a special tool of some sort, but from what I saw it was
quick & easy.

you can also change the light from amber to white, you can get it at any auto-parts store.

It's amazing how such a small change really makes or breaks the car. The amber side lenses are just eye sores on the bumper.
