CPB is infamous around these parts
Obviously you sold it after 10K miles, but how did you like the RS4? What made you swap over to a 997?

I drive a 997.2 C2S as well, but I do like the RS4.

having spent tons of time on track with AWD Audi's, in the C2S don't "floor it", or at the very least, keep your traction control on. RWD and the C2S in particular work opposite to the AWD Audi's. In the Audi you use the throttle to understeer, in the C2S, you use it to oversteer.

no..still have audi rs4..for sale! my father had 2 porche carrera cabs...always begged him to drive them love em!! mine's a cab...love the feeling of hitting it with the top down...pretty much that made me swap...to me a car isnt about which is fastest cause there always some exotic faster or tuner with nitrous and a huge turbo...to me its all about feel..and between porsche steering feel and the tranny(manual!) nothing like it to me..except maybe the lotus elise(rented for a day) even took out my friends f430 and i didnt like the steering as much(exaust note was intoxicating)

Very nice car! Back to your original question, since I believe LSD is an option, I would expect it to show on the window sticker as one of the options (along with full leather interior, sport chrono, etc.).

Look on the sticker for "axle lock differential" . If you see that --you have it . If you don't have the option it's not the end of the universe . I think it's a great thing to have but I also think that on internet forums this is probably the over rated option on this particular car . It should be standard on all Porsches --but isn't . It now is standard on all C4S cars but I think its in part because Porsche uses C4S cars for a winter driving school in Finland . For the AWD drivers it's over doing it . All tiptronic Turbs do not have it and 1/2 manuals do not either . None of the 997.1 cars in the USA have it and now that its coming to dealerships I would order it but would not shed one tear if my car didn't have it.

Look also on your sticker in the service book. It's option code 220.

Honestly, don't waste your time and money on LSD for a street car. It's not even needed for the track in the 997 platform - take it from me with 20,000 miles in a 997 C2S and GT3 with half those miles actually on the track. My 2009 C2S will come with Sport PASM which includes LSD, but if it didn't come with it, I wouldn't even bother adding it. The rear of these cars are so hooked up with the weight and big sticky tires.
