Similar think happened to me yesterday. I went to start the car and didn't have the juice to turn over. I even got to experience the, "jumper cable to fuse box to open the hood" trick. I brought the car into the PD (it needs an annual service anyway) and asked them to check it out. Seems I need an new wiring harness. The Service Rep stated a service bulletin was out on them and are a known problem.

I just got a call from my dealer, I think I have this same issue. Is it the wire that connects to the alternator? Either way I'm without my car for another day or so, at least I'm not in a Kia loaner car.

Yes - It's being replaced by a harness that carries a smaller gauge (thicker) wire from the alternator to the battery. Should get it back today. I've had a Camary since Saturday as a loaner - to the dealer's credit they offered to put me into a Cayman when they discovered a part need to be put order. Doesn't matter - my porsche isn't a daily driver and we are getting a laugh at calling the thing in the driveway the Cam-ri-o-lini.

They just finished up my car and everything was covered under warranty. I'm even getting a brand new battery as well! You got a Camry loaner?! I have an 09 Cayenne, we are such snobs.

Same treatment here. New battery included in the repair and all coverered under my CPO warranty -- plus they gave me a 19% discount on the annual service! Really impressed by the service at Tysons Corner Porshe.
