Can Anyone Recommend a Muffler Shop in OC (CA) to do the "Gundo Hack"?

I tried posting in the SoCal section, but only got one response from a fellow member looking for the same thing, so I thought I would try here. :)

I'm looking for a muffler shop in OC that preferrably has done this "hack" before and won't charge an arm and a leg to accomplish it.

Thanks in advance.

Hey - just take the mufflers off, drive them down to your local muffler place and ask them to do what you want. Should be about $150 or so. More than that is a complete rip-off.

Show them pictures.

I did it on my car, twice. I think it was like 100 bucks and it sounds so good. Its and easy job, any muffler shop will be able to do it

Thank you all!

Doesn't even need to be a muffler shop. Any competent welder can do this.

Looks like you did a double bypass... interested as to why you chose to go that route rather than one or the other?

I took GUNDO's pictures & my muffler to a muffler shop and said "DO THIS!"

$80 later, my car sounded AWESOME!!!

Its a night and day difference.

Those pictures: looks like two different welders (!) but what a great idea.

Nice!

Anyone have a set of stock mufflers they'd want to part with? I thought I'd found one on craigslist, but the guy sold it... darn!

I'm in OC. Send me a PM

I used Mesa Mufflers in Costa Mesa (on Harbor blvd ) . When I had mine done, they said they have done a couple of these hacks. $100 for the job. The welds are just OK which should be fine since no one can see them.

I've got Fabspeed mufflers on, but I am considering switching to AfterHours, which sounds sort of like a midpoint between the Fabspeed and complete muffler bypass.

I would imagine that doing this hack to my Fabspeed mufflers would sound great- anyone do it?

Afterhours are extremely loud. Had them and took them off. Some guys like em and others not. If you like to use the cell phone or enjoy music without any resonance at 2500 RPM's consider modding the mufflers instead.

I'll trade my set of PSE style mufflers that are ready to install if anyone is interested :).
