Did I get a good deal ?

I recognize if I'm happy with the $ spent for the car all else doesn't matter, however, I'm interested in opinions/wisdom on whether I did well here.

Picking her up on Friday and will post pix next week.

2005 997S. Basalt Black over Black Leather.

36k on the odo. Paid $46.3 for the car.

Bose
PSE
Sport Chrono Plus
PASM
Heated Sport Seats
3m Clear Bra
Lobster Forks

Car is in CT and just came off lease from Porsche Financial.

Having spent the last 6 years in the air cooled camp with a 993 C4S, I'm anxious to enjoy the added refinement and hp of this evolved 911.

Thanks for all replies.

Best,
Keith

IMO I think that is a pretty good deal for a higher mileage car.

if no mechanical or cosmetic issues, then yes it is a great price.

Is that car CPO by any chance? If it is, then obviously we know that it doesn't need new tires/brakes/etc right away.

I expect that the new car warranty either just ran out or is running out later this year, right?

BTW, I see that you are in Virginia. Welcome! I live in Bethesda and work in Tysons Corner. Are you around these parts?

Car is not CPOd. Tires are near new at 9/32nds and brakes according to PPI are at 70% remaining life.

Right..Warranty expires in April '09. I've some time remaining if any unforseen issues pop up. Car will be a daily driver so it won't take me long to identify any problems.

I'm in Richmond and have spent plenty of time in Bethesda...good times.

That is very similar to my car, which is an '05 997S with 34k miles, and similar options. I'd say you got a great price, as that is about what dealers are paying to buy them for. Sad that I paid $20k more 1.5 years ago. Ah well.

The price is right for the car BUT is the car right for the price ?

Translation - Your got a good deal going in but the 15K saved going in exposes some risk long term . Tough choice .

It's not the price that concerns me . It's the miles and lack of CPO coupled with the end of warranty on a daily driver . The car can check out great NOW but after 50K if something isn;t so great whatever he saves now can be lost. Plus to sell the car then is difficult. So what sounds great now has this UNKNOWN . It's true that all cars have unknowns . A new car can have problems too . BUT a high mile P car with problems can become a money pit with glue .
