Does any company do aftermarket leather interiors?
I was wondering if any companies might do custom door panels and other interior parts. I have noticed that many cars that are being shown have alternating color on door panels and consoles. Most notably Techart seems to do this, but I find no mention of it on their website. Does anyone have any experience?
I would think that any high end upholstery shop could do this.
Hardest part for them would be removing the parts.
Also it may be expensive shipping seats, door panels etc....so finding a shop local to you would help.
Hope that helps you?!

Found these folks on the web. www.designpaulchampagne.com . Appears to specialize in 928's but might do 997's. The process can't be that much different assuming he can get the correct leather to match. Haven't used them myself so I can't vouch for their work one way or the other.
Thanks for the replies! It seems like custom work can be quite expensive. I noticed that there are places like ebay that have dismantlers that can get various porsche pieces. For example they had a new grey leather door panel for sale for a good price, but they only have 1 (left side, i think) I would imagine that the porsche parts right from the factory would be crazy expensive. BTW, I was just thinking about the doors and the center console. Not the Dashboard, which I heard would be better if I just purchased a different car!
I have had some of my 996 parts covered in leather by at the 928 leather shop. They do seats, dashes, door panels arm rests and custom work. They have been very timely and quite reasonable. Give Robert Budd a call.

You could contact Autos International in Escondido California. They do very nice high end work on 356 Porsches, and most other Porsches and cars. They have a website with prices and they are pretty flexible. They also will do parts and ship them back to you. Their work is top notch and they have done many concours winners so I would bet they could help you out.

I looked at that ebay left door panel as well. Turns out the shop is Gemballa.
They will do 997 leather & alcantara upgrades.
Check with Heinz at their store in Malibu. 310-457-1709

Let me know what you end up doing. I am considering a similar move.

there is also a place called L.A. Dismantler which seems to have lots of doors available. They have an ebay shop as well as a website. They have door panels from $399 up to $1K. I would love to know how much porsche would want for the stock items.
It is funny, but those little side center console pieces really bother me when they are not leather covered. (I wish I had ordered the full leather, but it is too late to change the order!) It seems that they leave space for the leather covering and there is a gap there. They look really cheap. Are those pieces easily coverable and/or replaceable??

john - suncoast porsche has them for about $1k. they are a great place - ask for Ric.
I just put those pieces in. Leather front console side covers. I picked up mine at Sunset Porsche. They are very nice! I am pleased. Like the Carbon Fiber affliction you end up wanting more. I started w/ a stripper optioned car for the most part. It's becoming fully ,loaded with OEM pieces. The Dash looks like a major hurdle for leather though...
