Do 997 GT3's come from the factory with 5mm spacers?

i have 997 GT3 wheels that are supposed to get here thursday and someone told me all 997 GT3 cars come with a 5mm spacer for the rear wheels from the factory.

is this true? will i need the same spacers on my 997 S?

it doesnt make sense for a wheel to be designed for the GT3 to require a spacer ?
tia

thanks, thats great.

i did a search in the gt3 section but didnt see any mention about spacers. on rennlist, there are about 7 or 8 different threads on the topic but seem to suggest the spacers came standard.

as long as i dont get any rub on the inside, i will run withOUT a spacer.

Interesting too that the Porsche longer lug bolts are stamped "GT" on the head of the bolt.

This may be a bit off topic, but maybe I'll get a reponse.

I recently ordered H&R 7mm and 14mm spacers for my car, together with the proper longer bolts. However, I realized that by doing this, I lose my wheel locks.

Has anyone found longer wheel lock bolts to use in this type of situation, or should I stop worrying about it?

You can get locking lug bolts for the Porsche longer lug bolts but they only will work for the 7mm...I wouldn't worry about it. Any wheel thief probably has a master key of some sort and if they want the wheels, the wheel lock won't prevent a theft.

This was my thinking, too... if theives want my car/wheels/etc, a wheel lock/alarm won't stop them.

ok, so you're saying the spacers are not optioned but standard on all GT3's.

do you know if i will need to run the 5mm spacers on my 997 S with GT3 wheels?

if it wont rub, i'd like to run without a spacer but if under hard turns it will, i will get the spacers too

Absolutely right. The "GT" bolts are the longer ones.

You won't "need" to if you're stock ride height but then again if you're lowered (not sure to what degree) it should be fine to space them out as the wheels tuck in.
